Vacation Resort Destination

Riverstone Resort Pigeon Forge offers its vacationers one of the best resorts in the area. The resort has wonderful views of the Great Smoky Mountains and excellent amenities for the whole family.

Riverstone Resort Pigeon Forge is designed to be a second home vacation condo. Instead of finding a typical hotel room at your destination, you will enjoy a fully-furnished condo home. The condos are actually individually owned, then rented out by the owners with an onsite staff to care for the property. The condo’s have one to four bedrooms and every creature comfort for a home-away-from-home experience.

With some of the nicest scenery in the Great Smoky Mountains, Riverstone Resort Pigeon Forge is an ideal setting for weddings and family reunions with something to offer everyone. It's more than a place to stay for your vacation; it's a perfect home base that can set the tone of your entire vacation.

The Riverstone Resort Pigeon Forge condo units were designed by the same people Disney entrusted to design the upscale Old Key West Resort at Disneyworld, as well as the famous Atlantis resort in the Bahamas. As a result, rooms are exceptional in design and comfort. Each condo has spacious rooms with higher-than-average ceilings and custom furnishings. A stone fireplace, Tennessee style, graces each living room with easy to use gas grids. A full-length patio or balcony overlooks either the on-site golf course or nearby Pigeon River.

Riverstone Resort Accommodations

We left home early for Riverstone Resort Pigeon Forge and arrived around 2 PM. We reserved a 2-bedroom, 2-bath condo and it was quite spacious. As you first enter the condo you could see right away the decor and furniture was top of the line and beautifully arranged. The tiled entry way was lovely with a tray ceiling. The first room to the left was the master suite. It had a huge king-size bed with pillow top mattress, down comforters and pillows. It was one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept on. The room also had a lovely TV cabinet, dresser, nightstand and a nice size walk-in closet. We especially enjoyed the 2 to 3 person walk in tile shower which had full body showers with numerous shower heads hitting you from all angles. The master bathroom also has a whirlpool tub that was great at the end of the day. And quite unexpectedly, we had a private balcony terrace right off our bedroom!

The second bedroom off the entry featured two nice size twin beds, a TV with a dresser, nightstand, and closet. The second bathroom is nice with an attractive tile floor, marble counters, brass fixtures and a blow dryer for your convenience. There is a good full-size kitchen with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, microwave, plenty of cabinet space, and a full set-up… dishes, silverware, pots & pans. There is an eating bar with stools, a full-size dining room table and buffet. Oh, and it has a washer and dryer that came in real handy after an afternoon of whitewater rafting.

The kitchen-dining area opens to a living room area with a couple of chairs, a round table, and a fold-out sofa bed so you could sleep 6 in the condo. The kids really liked the flat screen TV’s in the living room and all the bedrooms. There is also a gas log fireplace in the main room, should you visit during the colder months. All the Riverstone Resort Pigeon Forge condos offer interesting views front and back. Our condo included a private balcony facing the 7th fairway of the golf course and a screened-in porch facing the pool, with the mountains and the parkway visible in the distance. The balcony had a ceiling fan, table and four chairs for outdoor dining or leisure. We had breakfast outside every morning just as the sun was coming over the mountains.

Water & Activities

For water activities at Riverstone Resort Pigeon Forge we started with the outdoor lazy river and spent the greater part of a day relaxing on the sun deck area. This area has some very lovely landscaping with the sound of waterfalls cascading nearby to help you relax. It was great to get away from all the hustle of the parkway for a while and just take it easy.

In addition, there is a fairly large indoor pool complex nearby within a two-story glass atrium. The area has a nice kiddie pool and a large hot tub which we took advantage of after a day at Dollywood. The pool area is open until 2 a.m. so the kids have plenty of time after the festivities settle down on the parkway. They also have a very large game room that includes air hockey, billiards, and arcade games. Another great feature for young children is the great play area complex immediately adjacent to the pool.

Fitness & Relaxation

If you would like more exercise than found through swimming, you can visit the resort fitness area. With everything to do in the area it was a challenge to set aside fitness time, but we managed to get in a couple of good workouts.

We also had the option to tone it down a notch and take a few walks along the slow moving Pigeon River. It is right outside the resort and they have several observation areas along the way to take a break or just enjoy the view.

If your looking beyond the ordinary for relaxation, there is a beautiful spa at Riverstone Resort Pigeon Forge which offers full spa services, from the rest and relaxation of massage and body treatments to facials and other beauty treatments. You can get packages with multiple services, and you may even be able to get a local discount if you're staying at the resort.

Gatlinburg Golf and Country Club

We were so glad we planned to fit in a round of golf during our stay at Riverstone Resort Pigeon Forge last summer. When you drive up the hill on Dollywood Lane you can see right away that you are going to have some elevated views of the surrounding area. As promised, the views will amaze you with the scenic beauty of the Smokey‘s. And don’t let the moderate yardage fool you, the course will challenge you with vertical drops, elevated greens and versatile fairways. The 18-hole course features 6,282 yards of golf for a par of 71, a course rating of 73.3 and a slope rating of 132.

We found the front nine to be a fairly typical layout that was in very good shape with well groomed greens and nicely landscaped. The back nine is where some of the action really starts as more of the mountainous terrain comes into play. The 12th hole has a very distinctive setup with a par 3 that must drop what seems to be 200 feet to the green. The rest of the back nine is tight and challenging and each hole has its own unique style with some great mountain views. You will easily understand why the course has been celebrated as one of the most picturesque courses in America.

Location and Information

The Riverstone Resort Pigeon Forge is about two blocks off the main parkway, which most importantly means away from most of the noise and traffic. Still, we were right in the middle of everything, and close enough to walk to the Old Mill Restaurant - Shopping area, and only a short drive to Dollywood and Splash Country. The grounds here are beautifully kept and they maintain a nature path down by the Pigeon River. So again, you are close to the hustle and bustle of the parkway, yet it has that “country” feeling.

I would recommend calling ahead for reservations and be sure to ask about the AAA discount. These are definitely luxury condos, but at a reasonable price when you consider how spacious they are and the great location. We greatly enjoyed this condo and would definitely stay here again
